The Holy Spirit recently told me, “You have to go deeper in God to go higher in God.”

In other words, if you want to reach new levels of spiritual authority, receive new anointings for new purposes, gain new understanding and revelation, then you have the press in to God.

What does it mean to press into God?

It means to make your time with God a priority, for one thing. The Bible says in the Book of Proverbs to “attend to my words.” Well, when  you have something important to attend to you don’t let anything else get in your way, right?

If you were on your way to an important business meeting and someone wanted to stop and chat with you along the way about a movie, you would politely explain you have a business meeting to attend to and keep going along your merry way because  you wouldn’t want to risk that business opportunity. You want the rewards that come with business success.

By the same token, if you had tickets to a big basketball game or a popular movie on opening night and your cousin wanted to come to your house to watch TV, you’d politely tell him you had a special event to attend to. You’d want the rewards of enjoying that special event.

I tell you that spending time in God’s Word and in His presence trumps anything and everything. It’s the most exciting event we can attend. It’s the most important meeting we can schedule. It’s the most vital part of our lives. It must be our top priority.

God is, and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Do you believe that? You have to go deeper in God to go higher in God. Attend to His words, spend time in His presence. Get out into the deep and watch your spiritual life increase.
