Can God Speak Prophetically to and through Anyone?

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

“But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.” — Genesis 20:3

The first time dream is mentioned in the King James Version of the Bible, it was when King Abimelech took Abram’s wife for his own. The Lord gave him a dream to warn him of his precarious situation.

Abimelech was not part of the Abrahamic covenant. So does that mean God can give prophetic dreams to sinners? What does the Bible say about this topic? What is the pattern? There are other instances of God giving so-called ’sinners’ prophetic dreams. We’ll take a look at some of those in upcoming posts.

YES, the answer is yes. :-) Perfect example is when Gideon was in the camp of the enemy and the enemy had a dream about Gideon’s army. God even used the enemy’s friend to interpret the dream. Gideon worshipped God in the camp of the enemy. :-)

Or when the high priest, Caiaphas, prophesied without knowing it. When he said, “You know nothing at all, nor do you take account that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.”“Now this he said not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation; and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad” (Jn. 11:49-52).

    Hows that? :-)

There are few things He has done that would seem “out of character” yet when it comes to His purposes, its just like His “character” to perform in those ways because the end result is either Blessing or Mercy and may I add righteous judgment. Now those who are not discerning or waiting on God for understanding will quickly say thats not Him. The key of understanding is not having to understand anything till He makes it a point in that persons heart. Walk in Him and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

THERE’S ANOTHER WAY OF ASKING THE SAME QUESTION.
CAN SATAN OR DEMONS SPEAK PROPHETICALLY TO AND THROUGH ANYONE?
I know its a bit of a daft point, but often when you reframe a question or statement in a slightly obtuse way the answer stand out in neon lights.
If Satan can, and constantly does, speak to both saints and sinners, then to maintain that God doesn’t is nothing short of moronic. (or perhaps just religious).

Everyone, saint and sinner has a spirit man. His spirit man has five senses like the physical man.
The problem is that in the western world, we have put our spirit senses to sleep in favour of our intellect.
Our intellect however is deaf and blind to the things of the spirit.
Disconcerting that it may be, many new agers can comprehend things in the spirit far better than most christians I have met. The problem with them is that they keep bad spiritual company, and are thus deceived.
Christians on the other hand know much better, they disallow virtually all spiritual experience because they intellectually know it must be demonic.
