Is Democratic Party Division Prophetic or Just Pathetic?
Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Senator Barack Obama is accepting the Democratic party’s nomination for president on Thursday. He bills himself as the candidate of change, the candidate of unity. Yet Senator Hillary Clinton’s supporters are up in arms about Obama’s choice for vice president: Joe Biden. They wanted Obama to choose Hillary for veep. Even top analysts suggested she might be the best choice of Obama wants to take up residence in the White House in January 2009.
Why is the self-proclaimed “candidate of unity” seeing such division within his own party over his own choices? Is this somehow prophetic? Would our nation really be more unified under President Barack Obama? Or would we be even more divided? This race could go neck and neck to the end, leaving about half of our nation voting for each candidate. It wouldn’t be the first time that happened, but it could be the most dramatic.
Will Democratic party disappointment over Hillary lead to another Republican landslide? It’s possible. You don’t have to be prophetic to understand that a house divided against itself will fall, and so will a political party. There is a war in the heavens over this election. I urge every Christian to get out there and vote according to the Bible.
