Who is Your Favorite Prophet?

Monday, February 11, 2008

You’ve got to check out this post at The Daily at the University of Washington. Celeste weaves modern times in with biblical truths while capturing the love of God in a post about the Prophet Elijah. It’s about silence. Here’s a quick excerpt in case it gets bumped by the time you get there:

God didn’t fix Elijah’s problem with destruction. Instead, God answered Elijah in the silence with a whisper. It’s a beautiful demonstration of God’s ability to destroy everything, yet his desire to show utter, undeserved compassion on a rebellious, evil people.

Maybe if we understood the silence, we’d better understand the noise and the general chaos in our lives. And maybe, just maybe, if we turned off our headsets, we wouldn’t be so deaf to our friends, to our community and to God.

Who Is the Queen of Heaven?

Monday, January 21, 2008

So many of the “prophetic” blogs out there deal with the so-called Prophet Muhammed. That’s troublesome to me. I’d much rather see true apostolic and prophetic believers sharing about the five-fold ministry, the gifts of the Spirit and other edifying topics.

Anyway, today I saw a post on one of those Muslim boards asking “Who is the Queen of Heaven?”

I have a short answer: Jezebel.

If anyone wants me to expound on that, I’d be glad to. The spirit of Jezebel is alive and perpetuating her evil deeds through the unsaved and saved alike. The spirit of Jezebel is an enemy to the true prophetic.

I’d better stop before I get started…

Jonas Clark Praises The Heart of the Prophetic Book

Friday, January 04, 2008

This book is about the heart of the prophet, the depository of God’s prophetic spirit. Jennifer dares to address the hijacking of prophetic ministry in some circles by the spirit of Jezebel, divination and spiritual mystics. She is pointed, direct and hammers them hard but with a right spirit. She defends true prophetic ministry and understands the importance of right motives and desires to put Christ first. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you in truth as you read this powerful book. I believe if you read this essay with a humble heart it will help you become a better prophetic minister.

Click here to purchase The Heart of the Prophetic.

The Lord spoke to me concerning prophetic ministry and specifically the prophets. He said, “My prophets will begin to relate to me in a different way.” I think The Heart of the Prophetic will help that happen. Prophets and prophetic ministry are signs of a healthy church. Check your motives, put Jesus first in everything and allow your gift to equip others to do what God has called them to do, make a difference with their lives and bring glory to Christ.

Was Judas a Demon?

Friday, December 28, 2007

We all know that the Apostle Judas was a traitor, a betrayer, a backstabber. We all know Satan entered him. But some are now saying Judas was an actual demon. Indeed, a new translation of the recently revealed Gospel of Judas suggests that Judas Iscariot was not only a traitor but as a demon also.

Let’s just skip the controversy over the so-called Gospel of Judas. I don’t want to touch that. But what are your thoughts on this “new revelation” of Judas Iscariot? Did he have a demon or was he actually a devil himself?

My personal opinion is that Judas was influenced by religious spirits and Jezebel spirits. He was controlling, manipulative and greedy. If the Prophet Jonah was a mess, the Apostle Judas made him look like an obedient servant by comparison. These same spirits — religion and Jezebel — are still trying to get those who follow Jesus to betray him today.

Prophets Pass Judgment on America

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

Remember all those prophecies out there on the Internet that declare the Lord is bringing judgment on the U.S. in the month of November 2007. These directives suggested we begin stockpiling food and supplies. Well, November is come and gone. It’s December 26. Judgment did not come to America.

Once again, all prophecy must be judged. God did no pour out His wrath on the United States of America. What is the inspiration of such prophecies, then? Prophecy come from one of three sources: the Holy Spirit, the human spirit or an evil spirit. Where are these seemingly endless prophecies about the destruction of America coming from, then? You know, the ones that never come to pass?

Judgment Coming This Month?

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

I’ve seen some prophecies out there on the Internet that declare the Lord is bringing judgment on the U.S. in the month of November 2007. Some are suggesting we begin stockpiling food and supplies.

I guess we’ll soon find out. There are just over two more weeks left in the month. All prophecy must be judged. What say you, prophets? What do you think? Is judgment eminent? Is God about to pour out His wrath on the United States of America? Or are the prophets prophesying this coming judgment prophesying out of fear, control, or some other spirit that is not of God?

Resurrected False Prophet?

Friday, October 26, 2007

A TV preacher revealed as a fraud two decades ago has “resurrected” himself, much to the disgust of a local man, according to KOMO TV. Here’s an excerpt from the story:

“Matt Clement was deluged with mass mailings, religious trinkets and pleas for money from televangelist Peter Popoff. Clement had lots of questions and asked the KOMO 4 Problem Solvers to investigate. We found Popoff’s infomercial industry is making millions. Keep Reading »

Don’t Ask Me to Prophesy

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

I’ve been monitoring the various prophetic blogs on the Internet through my handy dandy Google news alerts. I find it intriguing that some bloggers invite folks to leave a comment with their name in hopes of the blogger praying a prophetic word down from heaven.

This must not be so. This reduces prophetic ministry to slot machine status, or perhaps better put, fortune cookie class. You cookie crumbles open and you get a generic proverb on a little slip of paper. You put a quarter in the machine and hope it doesn’t come up with a trio of lemons. Keep Reading »
